RCI Unveils Surprise New Logo During 100th Anniversary Celebration

SPRINGFIELD, MO – June 19, 2017 – During Retail Confectioners International’s (RCI) Annual Convention & Industry Expo in Chicagoland, Illinois, the 100-year-old trade association launched its new logo, marking a dramatic shift from the previous logo that has been a part of the association’s visual identity for nearly 20 years.

Following a comprehensive evolution of all six of the association’s logos over 100 years, RCI proudly unveiled the playful and color filled logo at the conclusion of the RCI Anniversary Gala Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

“Although much of the world has changed since RCI was founded in 1917, much of what brought RCI together in the first place still stands true today. Not only is our 100th anniversary a significant time to reflect on the past, but it is an opportunity to look to the future of our association,” says Angie Burlison, RCI Executive Director. “For the past 100 years, RCI has developed a solid reputation for supporting the confectionery industry by providing resources, education and facilitating industry connections. Our new logo communicates not only what, but who RCI stands for today—the retail confectioner.”

As the result of over of a year, of ideation and discussion amongst the six board members, who comprised of the logo committee, the group agreed the new logo is the best representation of the association’s members. It is the intent of the new logo to communicate the continued relevance of the association to the retail confectioner through bright colors, bold text and fun imagery to represent the multitude of confections produced by the association’s members.
