Thursday, June 15, 8:00-10:30 PM

With the passing of prohibition and organized crime on the rise, The Juice Joint, a swanky speakeasy, has been nothing but jumping. To celebrate its success, everyone’s invited to this exclusive nightspot for a party to remember. From the stylish singer with her hopes at Hollywood to the crooked police chief with nothing to lose – no one is safe from murder…but all will have a chance at solving it.

Watch the 1920s come to life during this fun, interactive farewell reception and murder mystery party held at the host hotel. Participants are encouraged to dress according to their character roles, which will be assigned prior to the event.

You don't have to sign up as a character in the murder mystery to attend! There will be plenty of family fun, hors d'oeuvres and drinks for all. Everyone is welcome to try their luck at the gaming tables and partake in other interactive activities throughout the night. Read below for more information on the murder mystery experience and character roles.

Character Roles
It’s not like acting on a stage. Playing a character role simply means you’ll be given an alternate identity for the evening. Mingle with attendees as if you’re a member of the mob, a flapper, or another character in the murder mystery plot line. Half way through the evening we will pause, as one of the characters will be “murdered.” The remainder of the evening, attendees will use clues to guess who the actual “murderer” is.

Interested in Playing a Role?
During online registration, you’ll be asked what kind of character role you would like for the murder mystery party. You’ll have the opportunity to choose between a main character or a minor character. It is critical for the main characters to be present the entire evening, as your absence could interfere with the integrity of the event. Those with big personalities would be perfect for major roles. Minor character roles add fun to the evening, but if you need to step away for any reason, you’re able to.

Rules at The Juice Joint
Whether this is your first murder mystery experience or your fortieth, each murder mystery experience is different and has different rules pertaining. Here are some tips to review to help make sure the night is an unforgettable experience.

  • Read Your Character Sheet - This contains your identity and all the information you will need to play your part. This will be assigned and emailed to you prior to the event.
  • Dress the Part - It's a proven fact that the more into character you are the easier it will be for you to truly enjoy all the aspects of the night. In addition, it adds to the excitement, the photo opps, and your chance to be voted best dressed.
  • Review the Gangster Gazette - The Gangster Gazette includes background information on the other main guests attending the party. This information may come in useful the night of the party. Read the Gangster Gazette here.
  • Use Your Money Creatively - Upon arrival, you will receive some 'money' to spend any way you choose. Bribery and blackmail are two of the most common uses we found (and highly encouraged). The wealthiest player at the end of the night will also receive an award for their ability to turn a profit.

Awards will be given out to the ‘Best Dressed,’ ‘Best Actor or Actress,’ and to ‘Mr. Money Bags.'
