Creating & Maintaining a Successful Corporate Culture

All companies have cultures whether or not you proactively try to create and build your own unique culture. This discussion will talk about how establishing values and creating a unique culture can be a key part of the success of your business. Attendees will learn how values can be a competitive advantage and the methodology for establishing those values.

Peter Higgins is the President and Chocolate Scientist at Purdys Chocolatier. Peter joined Purdys in 1998 as a plant supervisor overseeing the production of various signature chocolates, such as Purdys' famed Hedgehogs and delicious Sweet Georgia Browns. Peter's passion for chocolate and knowledge of food manufacturing led to his advancement in the company. In 2015, Purdys was named one of Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures.

Communication Styles - Creating Connections

Manufacturing - Ways to Begin Using Automation
Presenter: Jim Pritchard, Purdys Chocolatier

Automation can offset rising labor and material costs and improve the profitability of a business. Attendees will learn how to identify manufacturing processes as potential automation opportunities and where to search for resources that can assist in the development of projects. An example of how a specific automation project was conceived and developed will be presented.

Jim joined Purdys in 2009 as the Vice President for Chocolate Operations bringing with him over 35 years of experience. He has held positions in manufacturing and operations specifically 30 years with Kraft Foods in various roles and was involved in the design and implementation of many automation projects.

Creating an Amazing Guest Experience

Customers are the lifeblood of your business. It is not always easy to win new business which is why creating an amazing experience for guests is so important. Attendees will learn to analyze current guest service levels, create an environment where "the guest is always right," and use the five senses in four-walls marketing.

Kettle Talk provides members an open discussion group to ask questions about chocolate techniques, production, labeling and more.
