RCI member and Savage Bros. Co. owner, Bob Parmley shares the following message with fellow members:

Less than 24 hours since the last RCI bus tour, a 10-inch water main burst and flooded 90% of our building resulting in extensive physical damage. The pipe was under the floor slab of the engineering wing and caused the floor to split open in countless places, one section with a 3-inch elevation change. Walls split open and false ceilings collapsed. The main office and plant were flooded and received water damage only. Fortunately, we evacuated the building quickly thinking it was an earthquake even before the water appeared.

Our guys got a lot of the water out of the plant this morning, and we have an emergency restoration company inside now cutting the bottom 2 feet of drywall away from ALL office walls to dry them out and prevent mildew. We had to remove and pack up all art and pictures on walls, empty the museum, and clear all desks. We were able to restore power today and get our computer servers and email operating, but we may not be able to occupy the building for work for several days.
